All is not what it seems - Flower Totems
Recycled glass, PVC, paint

The Flower Totems from the All Is Not What It Seems series of works based on the investigation of the processes of transformation of materials.
These sculptures explore the properties of plastic and how it can be moulded under heat and pressure to change its physical appearance to look like something else.
I am also interested in how a very common, everyday, utilitarian, building material, the plastic downpipe and old discarded glass can be transformed by the application of various techniques into something that looks completely different.
The finished surface looks like twisted and aged verdigris copper, contrasting with the luminous qualities of the recycled glass.
These totems are approx 1.6 to 1.8m tall and retail for $250
